Therapy with Marni EDMR CBT Therapist

About Marni

I’m a qualified / accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and EMDR therapist. I am really passionate about all things mental health and am a huge advocate of self care and self love. I want to support the movement around normalising mental health issues and accessing therapy. I love helping people and feel a deep connection towards easing the suffering and pain that a lot of us have endured. I really want to help create a sense of calm for you and support you towards your journey in self healing.  When stress and difficult emotions build up, they don’t just stay in your mind, they impact your body too. That’s why learning to manage emotional distress and stress isn’t just an act of self-care its essential to your whole wellbeing.

I have worked in the mental health field for over 16 years in a variety of inpatient and community settings. My work has mainly focused on adults.  although I did a short spell in CAMHS. I’ve also completed my supervision training which allows me to provide support, guidance and skills for other therapists who work using CBT.

I am a fully accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP). I am also a member of the EMDR association and am working towards my EMDR accreditation. I maintain high standards of professionalism and ensure my skills and knowledge are up to date. I am bound by the Codes of Ethics and Practice of the BABCP & EMDR association, so you can have confidence in the treatments and support that I offer.

I have worked for the NHS, private healthcare, charities, corporate companies as well as privately. Working privately has given me more autonomy in the way I work and the caseload I carry. Its allowed me to have more flexibility and freedom in the delivery of the sessions.

I have recently taken an interest in offering some complementary treatments to support your mental health and wellbeing. I have completed further training which allows me to offer further mental health support, so watch this space!
